FAQs

What's the difference between outdoor crew and outdoor knee-high socks?

Outdoor crew socks focus support on the foot and ankle with a 360° compression body, arch band and terry-cushioned sole. Outdoor knee-highs add 8–15 mmHg graduated compression up through the calf for extra leg support on long hikes and travel days.

Are compression socks good for hiking?

Yes. Our outdoor socks are made for trails and cold-weather walks, with a terry-cushioned sole, arch and ankle support, breathable mesh and moisture-wicking WickWell™ yarn. Outdoor knee-highs add 8–15 mmHg graduated compression through the calf for longer hikes and travel days.

Do compression socks keep your feet warm?

Some styles are made for it. Our outdoor socks use a cushioned acrylic-blend terry that helps hold in warmth, and our Cozy knee-highs are knit with heat-retaining yarn for chilly days. For warmer weather, choose breathable cotton blend or WickWell™ styles.

What size women's knee-high compression socks should I get?

Women's knee-highs are one size, made to fit women's shoe sizes 4–10, an ankle circumference of 7.5"–11.5", a calf circumference of 11.5"–18.5" and a calf height of 16"–19". If your calf measures more than 18.5" around, our Wide Calf styles fit calves up to 22".

How do I put on knee-high compression socks?

Reach inside the sock, grab the heel and turn the sock inside out down to the heel. Slip your foot in, line up the heel, then roll the sock up your leg a little at a time, smoothing as you go. The cuff should sit about two finger-widths below the bend of your knee; don't fold it over, since a doubled band adds pressure.
