FAQs

Do ankle compression socks work?

Yes, for your feet and ankles. Our ankle styles hug the foot with a 360° compression body, an arch band for support and a raised Achilles tab that helps prevent rubbing. They're ideal for sneakers, workouts, walks and warm weather. If you want support for swelling in your lower legs, choose a knee-high style.

Are ankle compression socks good for flying?

Ankle compression socks support your feet and arches as you walk through the airport, but they stop below the calf. For long flights where leg swelling is the concern, knee-high compression socks are the better choice because their graduated compression covers the ankle and calf.

Should I choose knee-high or ankle compression socks?

Choose knee-highs if you want graduated compression from the ankle to just below the knee: they're best for long days of sitting or standing, travel and tired, swollen legs. Choose ankle, quarter or crew styles for a supportive hug around the foot and arch with sneakers, workouts and warm weather. Many people keep both in their rotation.

Are ankle, quarter, crew and liner socks one size?

Yes. Our ankle, quarter, mid-crew, crew and liner socks are one-size-fits-most and fit the same shoe sizes as our knee-highs: women's shoe sizes 4–10 and men's shoe sizes 7–12. Stretch yarn and flex zones help them adapt to your foot for a snug, secure fit without pinching. If you have questions about fit, our customer care team is happy to help.

What is the raised Achilles tab for?

The raised tab at the back of the heel adds a soft layer between your Achilles and the back of your shoe. It helps prevent rubbing and blisters and keeps the sock from slipping down into your sneaker.
